    On May 2, 2001, The Shawnee County District Court adopted District Court Rule 3.321, a copy of which is [set forth below.]

    This rule requires officers to serve domestic violence subpoenas on the witnesses for the next regularly scheduled domestic violence first appearance docket when officers make an arrest on a domestic violence call. Officers are required to follow the definition of domestic violence set forth in the written policies of the agency.

    The clerk of the district court shall issue blank subpoenas as required by the rule.

Domestic Violence Subpoenas

    If a law enforcement officer makes an arrest related to a domestic violence call, the law enforcement officer is directed, pursuant to K.S.A. 22-3214(2), to service subpoenas to obtain the attendance of witnesses at the next regularly scheduled domestic violence first appearance docket of this court.

    The officer shall follow the definition of "domestic violence" in the written policies of the officer's agency (see K.S.A. 22-2307).

    The Clerk of the District Court shall issue blank subpoenas for such purpose.
